The Origins of Girlsday237

Driven by the vision of an inspiring woman, a Cameroonian electrical engineer living in Germany launched a project close to her heart. Her goal is to encourage young girls, starting from primary school, to explore science and technology. In 2022, this dream became a reality in Yaoundé, with five participating primary schools and nearly 150 students. The event was a true success:

The Objectives of Girlsday237

With Girlsday237, we aim to:

💡Encourage and empower young girls to engage in science through hands-on workshops and mentorship sessions.

💡Develop future leaders by enhancing their problem-solving, leadership, and innovation skills.

💡Reduce barriers to access in science and technology by increasing the number of participants by 20% each year.

Girlsday237’s Journey in Numbers

In just two editions, here’s what we have accomplished:

✅500 girls discovered careers in science and technology.

✅More than 10 scientific projects were completed.

✅ 10 schools participated in the competitions.

✅ 500 medals were distributed.

✅ 1,000 school supplies were donated.

✅ Safe bus transportation was provided for all participants.

Our Needs for the 2024 Edition

For this edition, we need €5,000 to:

✅ Fund project materials: €1,800

✅ Rent a venue for the final event: €750

✅Ensure secure transport for participants and teachers: €650

✅Purchase medals, prizes, and print certificates: €800

✅Print T-shirts for participants: €1,000
