Émomé Art is an atypical street festival in Lomé, the capital of Togo, which began in 2016. Much more than just a festival: it's a veritable crossroad for artistic expression, sharing experiences and discoveries, bringing together local and international artists, as well as visual art enthusiast from Togo and from around the world. Open to all and entirely free of charge, it sees itself as a platform for cultural exchange and encounters. Its aim is to promote art in the public space, to raise awareness among the local population and to pass on artistic know-how in underprivileged areas.

Émomé Art supports projects such as residencies, meetings and conferences, as well as cultural actions promoting artistic education with the aim of breaking down barriers, questioning prejudices and encouraging open mindness

For eleven days, local and international artists will cross four locations in Togo on the theme of "Art and Biodiversity". It will take place in Lomé, the capital, and Kpalimé from June 27 to July 07, 2024. .
Émomé Art is an independent festival, with no institutional funding since its launch. The aim of this fundraising campaign is to finance the logistical costs of the festival, such as international artists' travel, accommodation and rental of cultural spaces.

Ras Sankara, whose real name is Kossi Aféli Agboka, is a well-known artist in his country and one of Togo's leading performers. Founder of the association Cascad'Togo, he is the initiator of "l'Émomé Art" as well as the festival "Art et mémoire" both taking place in Togo. It is for his commitment and activism that he was awarded the Prix Ellipse d'art contemporain 2023, which highlights his country's emerging artists.

Ras Sankara is a self-taught artist from Togo born in 1989. Although he devotes himself to painting, in 2015 he embarked on performance art, which is now at the heart of his artistic practice, with his own body as his main means of expression.Through engaged interventions, he denounces current socio-political problems and sparks debates to provoke reactions and reflections among the population, in a space that is open and accessible to all: the street.
