Purpose of this fundraiser

We would like to help the camping in the village of Damlacik in Turkey.

This small campsite is located in the Province of Adyaman (south-eastern Turkey), severely affected by the earthquake of February 6…

We stayed there in August 2022 and we shot one of our videos at this same location.

Unfortunately, two months after the earthquake, the restaurant building, which also houses some rooms, showers and toilets of the campsite, has severely been damaged and is in danger of collapsing.

The family that owns it is ** under a strict obligation to demolish ** all the infrastructure…

In other words, it means losing everything.

The context

The campsite is the only place of passage for travelers to Mount Nemrut Dagui and it is also a place where people from neighboring areas come which contributes to **bringing the modest village of Damlacik to life. .

It will of course be impossible for the family to rebuild the infrastructure identically. But we want to help them rebuild a minimum so that they can continue to welcome travelers.

The challenge

After demolition, the priority will be:

• to rebuild showers, toilets
• a restaurant area

We have created an online kitty to raise some funds to support them. Obviously, we take on a heavy responsibility here.

We will take care of transferring the funds to Ramazan and his family and they undertake to keep us informed of the operations they may carry out.

Everything will of course be transparent and we will keep each contributor informed of each step.

Help us for this cause

A few weeks ago, the day after the earthquake, a number of you asked us if we were going to create a solidarity kitty.

It was then quite difficult to answer you. For who ? For what ? How ? Because in the aftermath of a disaster of such magnitude, the priority is always emergency aid.

We remain convinced that recognized associations of general interest - even if it is certainly not perfect - are best able to carry out collections and guide relief and assistance to victims.

2 months after the earthquake...

But after a few weeks, past the emotion of the catastrophic images that scroll on the screens, there are still lives, whole families impacted by a dramatic situation.

Today, we want to help a family who welcomed us like so many other travelers with the greatest kindness.

It's a concrete cause and that's why it's important to us to return this generosity to them and to do everything to help them...
