Who are we here for?
Orphans!
They need protection, special attention and even more the assurance of a better future. However, the cost of living continues to rise, and access to health and education is increasingly difficult. It is in this context that we have focused on two orphanages, which have shortcomings in their ability to solve problems: logistical, didactic, and nutritional.
What do we intend to do?
**We will do our utmost to raise the necessary resources to improve the living conditions of these children. In fact, over the last two years, the sectors of activity that are accessible are those that turn towards digital technology or the digitalisation of services. This trend has become more pronounced with the advent of the COVID 19 pandemic and the implementation of barrier measures against this scourge. This has led to a rise in the number of digital professions, from office secretarial work to software development, including digital communication and marketing, and more.
What does this mean in practice?
A kitty, in order to offer support in the field of digital to children in orphanages in the cities of Yaoundé and Douala.
The Sainte Rita de Cascias de Simbock orphanage in Yaoundé, which has just over 45 children in a space of less than 300 m2 , housing children aged from 3 weeks to 21 years;
The Canaan orphanage in Bonjongo-Bonabéri in Douala, which has just over 15 children. This orphanage is in desperate need of food and teaching materials. The donation package will mainly consist of :
- Computers and WIFI key;
- Modems and internet connection packages;
- Computer training;
- Basic necessities;
And to achieve this we need >YOU. Together, we can create opportunities for orphans that will open up avenues for those after them.
## Specifically
The total support from these donations has been estimated and divided into tiers:
A first tier which amounts to €1500 (≈ 1,000,000 Fcfa). This money will allow us to have 04 computers, 04 WIFI keys, 02 internet modems, internet connection packages for a period of 3 months and basic necessities such as foodstuffs, sanitary towels, disposable nappies for infants;
A second level which amounts to 2300 € (≈ 1 500 000 Fcfa) which will make it possible to obtain a little more computers (06) per orphanage and the equipment relating to it, in addition each orphanage will receive training in initiation with data processing with topics such as office automation, use of Internet, this over a period going from 1 to 3 months without forgetting the foodstuffs of first need which will be included in a little more important quantity;
A third level which can reach 3,000 € (≈ 2,000,000 CFA francs) which, as you may have guessed, will allow us to obtain a lot of didactic material such as computers, tablets, a larger quantity of food, supplies for infants in disposable nappies and young girls in sanitary towels, training courses over much longer periods with much more important and diverse subjects (web development, basics of digital communication), and possibly health grants (Consultations, medication, care)
> The aim is to open up the path as much as possible because we are in the spirit of "we can do more with less". Please do not underestimate your contribution, proposals and opinions on this project.
Who are the protagonists of this fund?_
The teams of OuiCare and O'Botama which are respectively :
A health platform that allows users to save their medical data, to access it at any time and finally to make appointments with health professionals for consultations.
An Innovative Entrepreneurship Support Structure (SAEI) based in Yaoundé, which has been supporting entrepreneurs from Cameroon and the diaspora in the development of their businesses since 2018. O'Botama offers 4 services: coworking, incubation, Expertise Centre, Cultural Space. .
What impact will you have if you contribute to this fund?
In addition to allowing these children to have the necessary computer equipment, we intend to set up an "education chain" which consists of training a dozen children who will then be able to supervise others (introduction to computers and digital jobs). In the long term, these children will be able to create decent jobs and participate in the creation of innovative solutions for their community, Africa and the development world.
